Pastor Horace L. Mingo is the Founder and Pastor of Jesus People Life Changing Church, Inc., located in Gainesville, Florida. Since its beginning in 1997, the Church has experienced rapid growth in membership. The heart of the ministry is to reach the lost, teach the love and life changing power of God, and to equip families for prosperity, peace, and eternal joy.
Pastor Mingo has a unique style of preaching/teaching with excitement and fervency that illuminates the revelation of God’s Word through the “Supernatural Power” of the Holy Spirit that manifest through him. Through practical, bible-based principles Pastor Mingo guides the saints in “living life abundantly.”
Pastor Mingo was born in Miami, Florida. As a young man, Pastor Mingo would spend his summers in Gainesville, Florida. Through the years he developed a love for the city. Interesting enough, it would be the same city to which God would call him to be “an oasis of life.”
Pastor Mingo was a basketball player at Carol City Senior High School from 1967-1970. After graduation he attended Navarro Junior College in Corsicana, Texas on a basketball scholarship from 1970-1972. He went on to attend East Tennessee State University where he played basketball there from 1972-1974. His educational endeavors also include a major in Commercial Arts from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. After leaving East Tennessee State University, he played professional basketball in South America in the beautiful city of Argentina, Buenos Aires. Pastor Mingo later became an alumnus of Trinity University in Miami, Florida from which he received his Bachelors Degree in Biblical Studies and Human Resource Management. Pastor Mingo is also a graduate with a Masters Degree from Life Christian University and is in pursuit of his Doctorate of Ministry degree.
Pastor Mingo has served faithfully as Assistant Pastor under the leadership of Bishop Isaiah S. Williams Jr., of Jesus People Ministries Church Int’l in Miami, Florida since 1985. His untiring services consisted of functioning in many multi-level facets of ministry to help strengthen the bond of unity between clergy and parishioners.
Pastor Mingo is the Honorary Vice President of the Right Connection Evangelistic Association which is under the leadership of Bishop Isaiah S. Williams, Jr., and a member of the Azusa International Fellowship of Churches and Ministries, Inc. Governor Jeb Bush has acknowledged Pastor Mingo and Jesus People Life Changing Church in honor of their Church dedication and community service. They have received similar honors from the State of Florida House of Representatives andhave been presented with a key to the City of Gainesville from the Board of County Commissioners for outstanding community services.
Pastor Mingo is the dedicated and loving husband of Prophetess Luretha Mingo. Those who meet him testify that he has a humble spirit and a heart for people. He operates in the ministry offices of Apostle, Prophet, and Teacher, with the manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit in operation through his life.
